Hi, I am looking at booking a trip in January for my DD 2nd birthday in January 2012. I frequently rent points and am looking to do the same for this trip.

I was considering a stay at a 2 bedroom AKL - value category room but was curious how difficult this is to book. I am past the 7 month point. Just asking if anyone had experience with this room category.

Thanks.
Carrie

there are relatively few value villas (something like a dozen or so), so they can be tough to book past the 7 month window.

you won't know until you call them. would do so NOW

they might still have some standard views.

She won't be able to call as she is not a member. The value category often is not available at the 7 month window. Heck I am on a waitlist for Nov and have been since a week after the 11 month window.

For the value category you may be to late. It is best to find a AKV owner and before the 11 month window opens.

If you are looking for the first week in January, there is nothing. Only 1 or 2 bedroom villas available for the first week were at OKW and SSR.

sorry for the wrong information - think the heat is getting to me.

thanks Denise for the correction.

to OP would generally call for you - but left my phone at home

thanks for all of your responses, it is as I thought. I would guess those rooms go quickly!

It is late January...
thank you all again :)

What's a value room at AKL?

in a section of jambo house's 5th floor, there was no room to build full size villas, so they built "value villas" that are 3 feet shorter than standard sized AKV villas. the 1BR and 2BR value villas do not have the sleeper chair due to the size reduction and occupancy is restricted accordingly.

value villas can have a savanna view (i've had one), pool view or parking lot view (had one).

edited to add: naturally there are zero value villas in the purpose-built-for-DVC kidani village.

I think its the best use of points for us! It's one of the main reasons we bought AKV. I hope we get a nice view like many of you have. I can't wait to see the value 2 bedroom in person in 140 days!
