AKL Value Accomodations?

We just bought points yesterday at SSR and are thinking of planning a vacation in January. I was just looking at the points chart and was wondering what the value accomodations at AKL were? Any info or pics? Are they different from other studio, 1BR, and 2BR DVC rooms? Thanks for your help!

Woops, I see now that they are just smaller than the regular rooms. We are considering staying in a 2BR Villa with my family. Has anyone ever stayed in the AKL value 1BRs or 2BRs?

No, we haven't stayed in any value rooms yet, but I beleive they are hard to get at the 7 month mark if you don't own there. Call right at your 7 month mark ...you never know! Good luck

They are limited in number and are about three feet shorter in depth. So they only sleep 4/4/8 - no sleeper chair available. They might be savanna, pool or parking lot view.

We are staying in the 2 bedroom value in Jan. Just added on 2 more nights to the trip on Friday and it was still available. The 7 month window opens on Tues. so you never know. Give a call, you might get lucky!

I've stayed in a value 1 bedroom, and we had a pool view. The accomodations were very nice and definitely fine for the 3 adults in the room. I shared the King bed with DSis and DCuz had the pull out in the living room. There was enough room for 2 others who were in a studio to come and have coffee/breakfast with us in the mornings. Other than those times we really weren't in the villa that much.

I do own at AKV, but I've booked value studios at 6 months out. For December, I tried at 6 months for 3 nights in a value studio and couldn't get one but I did get what was described as the last standard view studio in Jambo for those 3 nights.

I too would love to try the value rooms at AKV, but so far I've never been able to get into one at the 7 month window and I travel late January, early May and late October -- by means I don't travel during any holiday/summer times. I believe they are only in the Jambo section and there are not many. I've asked during ever reservation. Most recently I'm in the process of making my January 17-Feb. 1 reservations and have been working on a studio standard at BWV and ran into a snag mid-trip now (23rd), so now I have to wait until the 23rd to call in for a 9 night stay elsewhere. (I know I can only do 1 week, then add a day the next 2 days). While I would love to snag a value at AKV (studio), I have my site set for AKV-studio-standard or OKW, which I'm pretty confident on. I'm a point miser and like to stay as long as I can. During my January trips I always use a combo of my points at the 7 month window. I use my BWV points during the harder times at the 11 month window (the same for my BLT points for the hard to get standard views too).

We just returned from Kidani and we took a walk over to Jambo and they liked the pool and Mara. The kids sat at their own table near the pool to have lunch while the adults sat inside. They really loved the whole atmosphere of Jambo!

I hope to have another "gals" stay next September, and a 2 bedroom value will be my first choice if there's a total of 5 people...otherwise, I'll be going for a dedicated 2 bedroom standard at Kidani. If more than 5, I think the third bathroom will be worth the extra points.

I was able to get a value studio for 4 nights in August. Made the ressie right at 7 mos. The first night of my ressie starts on a Friday, so this may have helped. Best of luck!

I love Jambo too! It seems to have a little more excitement to it. I do love the laid back feel of Kidani, I still can't help be amazed every time I walk into the lobby of Jambo house. I think AKV is awesome because there is something for everyone.

One other thing about the Value Villas (actually all the villas at Jambo House). There are no dedicated two bedroom villas. And the bathrooms do not have the separate shower and jacuzzi tub in the one and two bedroom villas. Not sure about the Grand Villa.

Jambo's studios have double sinks in the vanity area. That's a plus for me!
