AKL turn down service.

I was reading somewhere that AKL provides turndown service to anyone who request this, not just conceirge. Exactly what do you get with this service and can anyone confirm this?

All the Disney deluxe resorts offer turn down service. You just need to call housekeeping or have them note your request when you check in. Basically, it's someone who comes into your room between the hours of 5:15 and 9:45 (you can request a specific time if it's more convenient for you). They will turn down the covers on your beds, replenish any towels or toiletries that you used after housekeeping left, leave a roomlight on for you as well as the resort channel on the tv. The GF leaves chocolates and a little poem on your pillow, I'm not sure what the AKL leaves. Turn down attendants have also been known to do some creative themeing with any stuffed animals they find in the room. My DD had a Stitch doll and when we came back at night we'd find him reading, or holding the clicker, etc. Very nice little touches. We also do leave a tip for this service, either $1 per bed or a $2 minimum.

We requested turn-down service at AKL and loved it! It was so nice to come back to the room in the evenings and have the blinds drawn, lamps on, plus the chocolate they left was WONDERFUL! They also left a little card with an African saying or proverb on it. I kept them for my scrapbook. We usually tipped about$3.00 every night and then the same in the mornings before we left for the parks. We called at the beginning of the week and requested it for our entire stay although some people have said they had to call and request each day. Try it - you'll love it! Such a luxurious little perk.
