AKL to WL

We have decided on our next trip (tentatively scheduled for the second week of January) that we would like to stay a night or two at the AKL. My aunt and uncle stayed there on their trip about a year ago and loved it. We (my mom and me) have never stayed there and decided to spend at least one night there. Our plans are to stay at the WL the majority of the trip, but then AKL for (as I stated before) one or two nights.

Growing up we did split stays frequently, but we usually only moved from Poly to CR, or WL to GF, never anything all the way across property. How would you plan a trip where you wanted to stay at both hotels, but were only staying for 7 days?

We always do splits from one resort area to another. You can leave your luggage with bell services at the first resort and ask them to transfer it for you to the second one. It usually arrives between 1 and 3pm. Then you can go to a park and enjoy the day. When you are ready to leave, go to the 2nd resort.

Alternatively, you can take your luggage in a taxi to the 2nd resort and check in there.

WL/AKL should be a nice split since you can visit AK when you are AKL and you won't have the long bus ride from the WL. I would stay at least 2 nights at AKL (we try for at least 3-4 nights per resort personally) because it takes more than one day to settle in and enjoy any resort, IMO. AKL is really a fantastic place and definitely worth checking out!

I completely agree with PP. We absolutely love the AKL! It is one of our favorite resorts. I would definitely recommend staying there for more than one night... AT LEAST two nights. This way you will be able to settle into the resort and have a chance to explore.

A split stay is very easy. Simply leave your bags with bell services at Resort 1 and ask them to transfer it to Resort 2. Once this is done you can either go to a park for the day (what we did last trip) and when you are done for the day take the bus/ boat to Resort 2 to check-in. Another option, is to take a bus/ boat to the nearest park (MK for WL or AK for AKL) and from there take a bus to Resort 2 to check-in and then go to a park or spend the rest of your day as you please. It will take some time for your bags to be transferred. They will typically get there late afternoon. Enjoy!
