AKL to Contemporary - Best way to get there

My family is staying at AKL. My sister and brother-in-law are staying at the Contemporary. What would be the best/easiest/quickest way to get to their hotel from ours?

Can you also give me an approx. guess of how long it would take.

I would take the bus to the MK, and then take the monorail to the Contemporary. That would probably take about 45 min.

You could also take the bus to MK and then just walk over to the Contemporary. Walking just takes about 10 minutes, and I would imagine that walking to the monorail and waiting for one to come along would take longer.

We did this in July and it worked out great! Plus..to us riding the monorail is part of the whole Disney experience , we ride it every trip at some point, even if we aren't staying at 1 of the monorail resorts.

Let me try to paint a visual for the OP. Take a piece of paper, and write the letters A, B C and D on it, equally spaced, such as:

A B C D

A is Contemporary
C is the Magic Kingdom bus area
D is the resort monorail station
[just ignore B)

This is a crude but probably pretty accurate map of distances. To walk to the monorail station, you have to walk a decent distance in the wrong direction, and then wait for the monorail. Walking to Contemporary is more direct, but it's all under your own power.

Including waiting time at the AKL bus stop, figure 30 minutes for the bus to MK and another 10 minutes for the walk. 40 minutes. Call it 45.
