AKL Sunrise Safari...worth upgrading to Concierge Level?

Hi,

We are reserved for 8 nights in a standard room at the AKL in January 2006. We would like to do the Sunrise Safari, but is it only available to concierge guests. Those of you who have done the Sunrise Safari and concierge level, do you think it is worth it? Our TA at Your Magical Journeys says it is the best concierge level, bar none. We originally decided not to do the concierge level as it is just two of us and felt the benefit was just not there (plus we are going to do the marathon and would not eat a lot of the snacks and things).

However, we are now thinking we could do a standard room for 5 nights and then move to concierge level on the Monday after the marathon and be able to do the Sunrise Safari on the Tuesday.

What do you all think?

I've not officially done Sunrise Safari, but I've done Sunset and I say GO FOR IT! I highly doubt you'll regret doing this. Many folks upgrade just for a night or two just to be able to participate in the safari adventures. You might find you enjoy the perks of concierge as well. Yes, plan for those days that you can hang around a little to enjoy the lounge. Plus you can take advantage of pre-planning services. They may not be able to make your week's worth of ressies, but I bet they'd go a little further out if you ask them to. I'd have to agree with your TA - they are one of the best concierge experiences on property.

We did exactly the same thing in Oct '04 and worked out very well. The trip is well worth the cost of the upgrade. Only problem was it made me wish I had done the Conc for a FEW days instead of one!!! Enjoy!!!
