AKL - Standard rooms -

We will be staying at the AKL in a standard room. Is there a particular room/secton/floor that we should request? I know there is no guarantee; but we might has well try for for best we can get in this category. Thanks in advance. Beachfan

I booked a standard view room for May, and I requested a partial Savannah /"people pen" view.

I know I'm probably being dumb, but what do people mean when they say "the people pen"? We are staying standard view room too.

I've stayed at AKL 2 times in a standard room and both times requested Kudu Trail and received it. Giraffes right out side my window!!! Pretty magical!

"people pen" is area's that are fenced off for exits for people incase of an emergency. See pic. below and the fenced in area in the bottom left corner.

We stayed at AKL last year the only request I made during online check-in was Kudu Trail view. We were on the second floor with a gorgeous view of the savannah! There was a small fence in our line of sight, but the money we saved booking standard it was totally worth it!
