AKL - standard rooms - made deposit today!!!

Hi guys,

We have decided (well, actually I have) that we will be staying at AKL for our anniversary trip in Aug 2005. I just paid the deposit today !!! We had planned on doing a moderate but for only a more hundred $ we could stay at a deluxe resort (our last stay in 2001 was at WL). I did book a standard room. I know the view the parking lot, etc. How bad are the views really. We do not spend a whole lot of time in the room, but just wondering.

The view is not bad at all. There are some trees and shrubbery buffering you from the parking lot. I think the standard room is a great deal. There are so many public viewing areas that we still saw plenty of animals. To see the savanna, I'd just step out of my room and walk a few feet down the hall. The standard rooms are also close to the main entrance and therefore the bus stop. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We had a standard view room and the view was of the beautiful parking lot. It wasn't too bad though and I think its quiter than a pool view. Plus like the previous poster said its closer to transportation and to the pool. Absolutely loved AKL and will definitely be going back! You won't be disappointed!

You have a good chance of a free upgrade at the AKL! We booked a standard view room and was upgraded to deluxe pool view! It does depend on the time of year you go and how booked they are, but my understanding the resort has more savannah view rooms and only a handful of standard view rooms, so chances are good. Either way, it is an awesome resort!
