Quick question . . . we're passing through Orlando BRIEFLY next summer, and I'd like to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for just ONE NIGHT. I see that they have two types of Savannah Views available: Plain Savannah view and Deluxe Savannah view. According to Deb's site, the price difference is 315 vs. 385. Can anyone tell me whether the deluxe view is worth the extra $70?

I'd like to pop for concierge, but at $480/night, that's a big splurge!

Thanks.

For just one night I would book standard savannah view. Deluxe savannah is not a better view, but a slightly larger room on the fifth and sixth floors. Many people, infact, prefer the standard savannah view over deluxe savannah view due to the fact they can be on a lower floor with standard savannah view, thus are closer to the animals. I think you are making a great choice to stay at AKL for one night! My obsession all started with a two night /three day stay when I had some extra days after a conference and convinced my mother to drive up and see me and come to Disney with me since she was "in the same state". Mom wanted to try AKL as her first ever Disney resort.... now her totally Disney daughter can't seem to book anything else! *though I am still a Swan and Dolphin sorority girl, through and through!*

Hope this helps,
Debbie

I agree! I don't have much to add to #1hockeymom's information, but I just wanted to say that you've made a great decision. I stayed in Savannah view last summer and it was so amazing. Even when you weren't at the parks you had an attraction right outside of your room. Have a great time and enjoy it!!::yes::

Go with Standard Savannah View - you are closer to the animals - the one nice thing about Deluxe SV is that you do get a King Bed (good if just two consenting adults ;)

thanks

I feel so relaxed sitting here thinking about watching the giraffes out the window. We had a standard savannah view, so I don't know about the deluxe, but the advantage of a lower floor makes sense to me.

Thanks for the information, folks! I had no idea that standard in this case meant lower floors; I assumed it meant better views. This was just the information I was looking for.
