AKL Room Request Question

Hello

We booked and AKL savanna view for the end of May. I also requested the Zebra Trail section of the resort.
Can I also request which floor we like ? And is the 2nd floor really the 1st floor with rooms on tht side of the resort?

My family and I will be there at the end of May as well, May 25th through the 28th.

I've read so many posts of AKL becoming their new favorite resort. So if any of you could post a suggestion for the best Savannah view room (which Trail, which floor, etc.), there's at least two of us who would really appreciate it.

BTW, I am interested in a room with bunk beds. Does anyone know if rooms with bunk beds have a less preferred view or are they equally situated throughout the resort?

Hi markm0926,

You can request a floor in addition to a trail but just keep in mind that it is only a request and might not be granted. If you have reserved a savanna view I would suggest requesting a view of a particular savanna instead of a trail or a floor. I would suggest that you request a view of the Arusha Savanna. You can see this savanna from either the Kudu Trail or the Zebra Trail.

Last time I was at AKL, I had (by my choice) 2 different rooms on different floors, different savannahs, one with 2 queens, one with bunks. Which one was better? I loved them both! First room-fifth floor, Sunset savannah, 2 queen beds. Second room-2nd floor, Center savannah, 1 queen and bunks. The only deciding factor I can see is which kind of animals do you most want to see? There are lots of birds, Ostriches, on the sunset savannah, and Zebras are only on the middle savannah. I'd have a slight preference for one of the side savannahs only because the lobby overlooks the central savannah, so you'd get a wider variety by having lots of access to 2 savannahs. There was only one thing that I don't love about being at AKL when I go to WDW-I love WDW and yet when I'm at AKL, I never want to leave. Then later I realize "Hey, I never got to WDW!" In other words, I love the hotel!

For some reason, I thought that there were no savannah view rooms on the 1st floor, but I'm not so sure now. I do know that standard (size) rooms are on floors 1-4 with floors 5 and 6 being deluxe or concierge rooms. Look at Deb Wills' site for more:

We were in Zebra Trail when we stayed at AKL on the 2nd floor. We really liked our location. I agree with Simba's mom, that you should base your Savannah request according to which animals you want to see the most. I really liked Arusha savannah, and I think Kudu Trail or Zebra trail would be pretty much equal for animal viewing. Zebra trail is closer to the pool and restaurants though, if that is a consideration.
