AKL room question

We have resv for 8/3-8/11 at the AKL.
I was just looking at the resort map and was wondering if anyone knows anything about the rooms that are in the lobby area.
What kind of views/rates are they and do they have balconies?
We are booked with a standard annual pass rate with the only request we made was for a bunk bed room.
We stayed at AKL a couple of years ago and were upgraded to a pool view in the giraffe trail ground floor. It was a great room.

I believe the rooms that open directly into the lobby area either overlook the pool complex (pool view) on one side or Sunset Savannah (savannah view) on the other. Rates would based on those view levels. My brother stayed in one of the pool view rooms that opened into the lobby area a few years back and loved it. He had booked standard view and received a complementary upgrade to pool view (this was in early June of that year). I believe all of the rooms overlooking the lobby have balconies (actually I think all of the rooms at AKL have balconies, but could be wrong on that).

Are these rooms typically louder, due to the lobby being so close?

On our first trip we stayed on the floor directly over the lobby desk and noticed no noise increase. The balcony railing was not open below the top rail it was solid. We couldn't sit in a chair and get a view of the animals we had to stand to see them. As for the rate I don't remember because we got a deal and then the check-in desk was having trouble with the computer so they gave us an even better deal (this was a month after opening so they were still learning).

This is our favorite resort! Have a great trip!!

I asked my brother about noise from the lobby during his stay there, and he said they had no problems with it at all.

We had connecting rooms right off the lobby, we were over the check-in desk. We had zero problems with noise, once the door was shut, we couldn't hear a thing. We were booked with a standard view, but we had a savannah view. I'm not sure if we got upgraded or not, since I didn't go to the check-in desk with DH, but I'm pretty sure we were not upgraded. As other posters have said, it is very hard to see over the balconies at AKL, I'm 5'1" and I had to stand on a chair to see the animals, but it was a great resort and we had wonderful rooms and we'll definitely stay there again.

Because we had a roof view as well as a savannah view, I'm not sure if that's considered a strictly savannah view or a standard view. We've had some pretty incredible standard views at several resorts, including a standard view at the Poly where we had a perfect view of the Grand Floridian and we could see Cinderella Castle around the corner. When my Mom and DH came back from checking us in (Mom, Dad, and sister in one room and DH and I in the other), they made no mention of an upgrade, so either that's considered a standard view because of the roof or the CM upgraded us without telling them. Hope this makes more sense.

We had a 5th floor room that was standard view that overlooked the lobby. It was very nice. Never noticed any noise. Our balcony was very secluded, it overlooked the valet parking area. Which we never heard any noise from either.

Although I would like to know why the people above us sounded like they were dropping ball bearings every morning at 6:00am!!!

Thanks for the info. Just called Disney to check on my resv. because I have not received a confirmations yet. Good thing I checked they had me checking out a day early.
After staying on the phone for a long while trying to add that last day on, all I was able to get a deluxe pool view for $205 with the annual pass.
They told me that I will have to move from my standard room that we will be in for 7 nights into the pool view for the last night .
Has anyone had this happen where they were made to move?
