AKL room change question

Unless our waitlist comes through, we will have to move rooms three days into our stay (we will be there Oct 22-27). How is the check-in/check-out process handled, since everything is under one reservation? Can I go down early in the morning of our transfer day to "check in" for the next part of our stay but remain checked in to our current room until 11:00 am? My reasoning is that I'd like to get the transfer complete as soon as possible so we aren't without a room until the nominal 4:00 pm check in time.

Chances are pretty low of your new room being ready by 11AM. I'd plan to leave your luggage with bell services until later in the day. Plan a nice day in the parks during that time. You might get lucky with room check in, but I wouldn't plan on it.

I figured as much, but I guess it can't hurt to try. We were planning to hang out at the resort the morning and afternoon of transfer day, and then go to MNSSHP that evening. It would be nice to have the room change complete in time for the kids to change into their costumes and head for MK before the party starts.

I've had to do this at AKV a couple times, and I'll have to do it on my next stay if my waitlist doesn't come thru. Unfortunately, the new room has never been ready early, so I've always had to leave my luggage with bell services until around 2:00 or later, when my new room was ready.

Hopefully your waitlist will come thru. Mine just did we are going to AKV in July and just got notified yesterday about the waitlist change. so u never know. keep ur fingers crossed

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm also hoping that the waitlist comes through for us. But if our rooms were ready sometime before the official 4:00 pm check in time, I would be happy. We may also change our plans and do MNSSHP on a different day and just plan to spend the transfer day at another park.
