Does anyone know of a good room at this resort?
Can you request a room @ disney too? I've never done this, sorry for so many questions!
And how do we request a room? Thanks!!

OK i looked on allearsnet, still confused, but can standard rooms get a Savannah view on floor 4? Would I just write this down & fax it or call them? or does anyone know a room number? thanks!!

Hi!

Savannah rooms are available on floors 1-4.

Floors 5 and 6 are "deluxe" size rooms, and floor 6 is deluxe concierge only.

If you paid for a standard size room with a Savannah view, you can request floors 1-4, but you can not get a room on 5 or 6 as these are deluxe size rooms (thus, different price).

Based on the room we stayed in (a deluxe savannah view room)--room 5371--I would surmise that a couple of rooms with really good views of the animals are rooms 3371 and 4371. They look out on the Arusha savannah, and they're nice and close to the animals (however, these are basic savannah rooms, not deluxe savannah rooms and, as such, aren't quite as big, if that's important to you).

HTH! :)

We were in room #2423 on the Zebra Trail. It was a standard savannah view room. I thought it was an excellent location. We were only steps away from the lobby, restaurants, arcade, and pool area while having a great view of Arusha Rock and the animals. :teeth:

Some people claim that 2nd floor is too low, but we found it to be just right.

We were also not very far down the "trail", so we could sit on the balcony and not only watch the animals, but the people milling around Arusha Rock.
Some people may not care for that, but when the animals were scarce, we still had plenty of entertainment!

I don't think Disney will guarantee specific rooms, but the room number is just to give you a reference point. :goodvibes

Have a great trip!!!! ::MickeyMo

why you all are on the subject, I have a standard room with a parking lot view. I do not want to pay the $90 a night extra, as we hopfully will not be in the room much. However, I am now wondering if it is worth the cost of our room ($144 a night AP) to stay at AKL. What are your thoughts? Any help would be apprecitated... :confused3

The only room available is/was the Water/Pool view Standard Room :(
was hoping for a savannah but none showed up and $195 a night was bad as it was.

I wouldn't be too worried about the pool view (unless you had your heart set on savannah view).

When we were there, I did think that if I couldn't get a savannah view, there would not be anything wrong with a pool view. :sunny:

The pool area is absolutely beautiful. The landscaping is wonderful. There is even a flamingo exhibit down by the pool.

Another good thing about the pool view is that you would be close to the lobby, restaurants, and of course...the pool! :teeth:

nope, I would rather be @ Pop Century in all honesty, but my aunt/cousin won't let me convince them to atleast move to Port Orleans or even Swan. They were asking about the savannah view, but weren't crushed when I told them the news. I put in a request (in my res.) to be on floor 3-4, should I call/fax them too? or is that ok?
