I was considering changing our Boma night to AKL Rainforest Cafe for dinner and was told that the AKL Rainforest Cafe is not in the dining plan. It looks like it was in the past - would this possibly be one that needs to be reconfirmed? Or am I wrong in thinking this was on the lists of past DDP participating restaurants?

I don't believe it was ever on the list. We used the DDP back in 2005 and also earlier this year.

Just to clarify - it's not at AKL; it's right outside the entrance to the Animal Kingdom theme park.

Hope you have a great trip! :wizard:

Thanks, both of you! I don't know I thought I saw it before. maybe wishful thinking? :lmao:

Thats correct it is not included. We were not aware of this when we booked it in May of 2006. We sat down and told our waiter that we are on the meal plan and he said they do not accept it but he has done this in the past where guests ordered food just as if they did accept the dp, would pay out of pocket then would call guest relations and they would take care of the charge. Please do not fall for this one. We did as he said and even told guest relations his name and what he said to do and they we unable to help us. We were so mad and filed a complaint about him. So long story short because of his "suggestion" we were out almost $140.00

I hope Landry's fired the guy.

That's not exactly true. Rainforest DID accept a dining plan when we went in 2003-at least the one in the AK did. I know. because we ate there with it. It was called the dreammaker Gold plan. That plan was latter called the premium plan-(3 TS meals a day, unlimited recreation). I remember the waitress being thrilled we were on the plan, and urging me to get the stuffed lobster and specialty drinks with take home glasses. It was all included with the gold plan. I don't think the one in DTD accepted it, but I could be wrong.

Also restaurants like Fultons and Port yacht club were included-we ate there too.

I was under the impression that these restaurants were still part of the premium plan, but maybe I'm wrong. :confused3

Neither Rainforest Cafe has participated in the Disney Dining Plan.

That's true. However I was wondering that because in the past the one in the AK accepted the Gold Plan, did it also accept the premium plan once the new dining plans came out in 2005?? (at least I think it was 2005).

Does anyone know if the Rainforest cafe in AK accepted/accepts the premium and platinum plans? Just curious! :goodvibes

Yes, RFC currently accepts Premium and Platinum plans. I have no idea whether they will in 08.

I doubt the Rainforest Cafe will ever (again?) participate. This is not a Disney-owned restaurant.
