AKL questions

Ok , here we go

1. We are interested in a room facing the arusha savanna. Can anyone suggest specific room #'s with a great view.

2. We are going 9/3/2003. How likely is it we can get an upgrade? We already booked a savannah view.

3. I won't be upset if we don't get an upgrade but does anyone have any tips on getting one?

We were in 3511 on Zebra Trail overlooking Arusha.

Pros: Close to lobby
Lobby level
Great view of animals
Lots of animals


We too paid for the upgraded view (soooo worth it ). I didn't even ask about an additional upgrade at check-in. I too timid about such things but our room was great!

I believe we stayed in 3325??? Very good view. As far as upgrades? If you already have savannah view room the only things you could really upgrade to would be either deluxe or concierge. I don't think there is much difference between a standard savannah and savannah deluxe. I don't think you will be able to upgrade to concierge at n/c. If they have it available, they may upgrade you for a fee. It never hurts to ask

I agree with pewing. Room 3511 is perfect.

Close to elevators

I'm a power walker and being close to the elevator at the AKL was a big plus for me!! The hotel is very large. After walking all day in the parks the last thing you want to do is walk far to your hotel room. We had room 3527. This was definately a good room/view, but room 3511 or any room in that building would be the "perfect" room. The Zebra trail is important also because the elevator brings you down to Mara, laundry and the pool.

Well you have already booked savanna view so by upgrade you mean a "deluxe" savanna view?

I would not hope for a free upgrade to concierge with access to the lounge and food and beverage services prehaps you can pay extra for this at check in.

We stayed on the 5th floor (5233) on the Kudo trail overlooking the arusha savanna and it was excellent. Not far from the lobby or elevators and we got to walk across the rope bridge all the time which is fun.

Have fun planning your holiday - good luck with the upgrade but I know with what you have booked already you will have an amazing holiday.
