AKL Question

Could someone please tell me the differences between AKL Savannah View and the Deluxe Savannah View besides the price! And pro's or con's to either?

Deluxe savannah view has a room with bunk beds, a bed, and a day bed style thing and yes, the rooms are slightly larger.

Well with a queen bed, bunk beds and daybed - it sounds big enough for 5. Any idea why I am always told I have to have a suite or something ridiculously expensive? I would love to stay there!

Yes, the deluxe savannah are on the fifth and sixth floor, with sixth floor being concierge access. They are slightly bigger than the normal room size. They can have any number of room configurations:
queen/queen
queen/bunk
queen/queen/daybed
queen/bunk/daybed
king/daybed
king/no daybed? (not sure on this one!)
If you need sleeping for five, make sure to let CRO know what configuration to put down for your room request!

If all the deluxe savannah rooms are on the 5th and 6th floor, does that mean that if you're on the 5th floor, you are in a deluxe savannah room? I certainly hope not-I was on the 5th floor once, and the location and view certainly wasn't "deluxe" compared to the room I had the next night on the second floor.

The room is deluxe but the view is not necessarily so. The best views have to be non-deluxe/non-concierge because the fifth floor puts you up at tree-top level and the sixth floor has limited savanah views. The second, third, and fourth floors are obviously much closer to the animals. The six-floor rooms must be like sitting in the "nose bleed" section. If the Disney architects had been thinking straight, the would have put the more expensive ("better") rooms closer to the animals (isn't that the whole point of going to AKL?).

We did not care for the second floor. We were assigned a room here and requested a room change (could have had something to do with the People Pen that was there, too). The views from the 4th and 5th floor that we have had have been just fine, in fact, we really enjoyed them.

It's all a matter of personal preference I suppose. For us, the perspective from the higher floors allows us to see more than if we were on "ground level" with the animals. Also, I don't think expensive necessarily equates itself to "better", especially at AKL. To me, it's all good!
