AKL question

We are staying at AKL on our upcoming trip. Can anyone who has stayed there answer a question fro me?

One of my Disney planning books says that you can get to AK via bus or a short walkway. Other people are saying there is no walkway.

I need to know, because we made a PS at RFC at AK for 5:00 one night. Will we be able to walk back to the hotel? Because the busses only run for one hour after the park closes. I don't want to change the PS earlier, because we want to watch the 4:00 parade at AK. Also, would rather not have to get a taxi.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

There is no walkway. What time does the AK close on the day you're going? You may be able to get a Special bus to pick you up, but I think a Taxi would really be your best option. It'll be less than $10 to take you back to the resort or to another park.

Robin is right: there is no path! IMO you could skip RFC (unless you have your heart set on it) and dine at Boma intead, where at least the food is good and the bathrooms are clean (but again, this is my opinion only). Every other restaurant in AK (even the one cotracted to McDonalds) has better food, as is the case with the AKL restaurants. Uh-oh, rant coming on; I'd better stop now.

Seriously, Disney transport won't leave you stranded. You could take a cab, but you will likely have a bus available. Good luck!

As the others have said, There is DEFINITELY no walkway b/w AK and AKL. However, the bus ride is about 3 minutes. You will not have a problem hopping a bus back to AKL after the parade and dinner. HAVE FUN!

I agree that Boma is great, but I also liked the RFC. I used one of the Kingdom Lunch coupons there and it was a great value for good food.

The reason we are going to the RFC is because I have the vouchers also. I changed our PS to lunch time, so I don't have to worry about the busses not running anymore. I really wanted to eat there for supper though. Oh well, will just get to EPcot that much sooner!

I too read about a walkway from AKL to AK in a travel book I bought. There isn't one, I asked during our AKL stay.
