AKL pool view rooms

Hi!

This is going to seem like a silly question since I am aware that a Pool view is not necessarily a quiet location - but, after I made our ressies I started to wonder about the noise since we love to keep our sliding doors open at night. We will have an 8 month old and 7 year old with us, so decent sleep is important!

If anyone has stayed in a pool view room, can you tell me how bad the pool noise was? Obviously, that answer can change depending on who is using the pool at the time too! Also, some posts seem to mention that some pool view rooms also look out onto a savanah - (although from a distance). Looking at a map of the resort, I'm not sure how that would be or which rooms would face in that direction.

Any insight from pool view roomers?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

We have stayed in pool view rooms at the AKL twice. Our first stay was on the Giraffe Trail on the 5th floor and we could see the Uzima Savanna in the distance and a great view of the pool area.

Our second stay in a pool view room was on the 2nd floor on the Zebra Trail and had a direct view of the pool area only.

We did not find the area to be loud at all. Request a room on the Giraffe Trail and you might be able to see animals in the distance.

Just so you know ... there are no screen doors. Your door would be open to all the bugs and other critters that would be likely to wander in (like lizards). Also, the HVAC system cuts off when the door is open so the hotel is not heating or cooling the outside. So ... you might want to keep your door closed at night!
