AKL Pool View and view of Animals

Is it possible to get a Pool View at AKL and see animals in the backdrop? Looking at some of the descriptions of Pool View, it seems that there is a Savannah near it, so I thought you might get this view from some pool view balconies? Am i crazy?

Not really. In the rooms we've stayed in, you either get a savanna view, or a pool view. There's nothing I've seen that spans both. There are foliage "walls" around the pool area that really separate it from the savanna's. They've pretty much made sure that if you want a savanna room, you're gonna have to pay for a savanna room. Sorry!

The very ends of the trail, on the pool view sides, will be able to look across at the edge of the savannahs. You can also, albeit it is a long look, see part of the savannah while looking straight across the pool to the savannah from one of the upper floors.

Remember at AKL there are many places to see the animals from. There are look outs everywhere! They really do encourage seeing the animals from many different areas. I never looked at the vegatation as a way to keep people from seeing out, but rather as theming. I really feel like I am in another world when at AKL, including when I am at the pool area.

Last Nov. we stayed in the conciege and we given a pool view on the 6th floor. You could see the pool and in the far back ground you could see animals. I don't know if this helps.

Yes. We were in a pool view room on the giarrfe(sp?) trail back in May of 2001 and you could see animals out on the Uzima overlook savanna.

If your vacation budget can fit the extra expense for the savanna view room then you should book it without a doubt. But, if you are going to be streching your budget to thin or you are not going to do things you want then go with the pool view and have a great time.
