AKL Pool questions

Hiya! Everyone!

My family and I (Me, DH, DD4, DD3, DS 5months) are headed to AKL Mid September.

The plan, if the weather permits, is to spend most of our time at the pool.

Can anyone suggest a great shady spot to set up camp? I always seem to find a spot that is shady for an hour or so, then as the world spins...... FULL SUN the rest of the day! Not good for this fair skined Lass.... nor for my sweet baby.

Any suggestions? We have never been to AKL, but I have a map......

From what I can remember from our visit to AKL there are many tables and umbrellas at the entrance of the pool . Not alot of trees though.
I would suspect that if your going to be there all day with a baby you might have to move around once or twice to a new table as the sun direction changes. As with most pools at hotels...there are very few shady areas unless you get under an umbrella.

I can't sit in the sun for a long period of time so I always search out the shadier spots. AKL has quite a bit of folliage around the pool so there are many spots that are shady. If you want to be right by the pool however your best bet is to get there early and grab acouple of lounge chairs under the umbrellas. Personally I liked being a little out of the way for a little quiet time so I could read and not have people dripping all over me as they try to get to their chairs.

There are some tables with umbrellas "behind" the pool bar - you really can't even see them unless you walk past the bar. Another benefit of these is they aren't far from the hot tub to the left of this area...which many people overlook. It's not right on top of the pool if you need to keep an eye on someone - that's the only drawback.
