Looking directly out to the new "blue" (boo hiss) pool. It was just being refilled this day.

Little more to the right. We were right over the walkway to Mara and could hear the African music and lots of birds. Delightful!

Balcony with table and 2 zebra chairs. This is where we enjoyed our chocolate chip croissants from The Mara!

Awww, man! I am NOT liking the new blue pool. What a difference it makes, just looks like a giant blue pool now! :confused3

^^^ I know! I never got to see the original pool in person but its disppointing that the animal springs theme had to be changed. A CM told me too many complained it was dirty because they didn't understand it was part of the themeing. Couldn't they have put up a sign? ;)

It does take something away from the overall ambience of the resort theme. The blue just pops out at you whereas the old pool blended in so perfectly with the surroundings. sigh :sad1:

Did they change the main pool blue at the hotel? I think it is called Jambo? Or was this over in Kidani?
THanks

This is Jambo House. The Kidani Village was always that bright turquoise color (the same as most pools are).

Thanks for the pictures that was great- we can't wait.

What did the old pool have a sand bottom or something? There is only one pool at Jambo house right- the original site?

Linda

Both my husband and I thought the Uzima Pool looked terrific as a "watering hole." We are a little let down that when we stay there this month it's just a regular old pool now.

Does anybody have a pic of what it looks like now when it is completely filled? One of the big reasons I want to stay here is because of the pool.
Thanks

Anyone????

Don't remember specific room numbers - but either trail is nice ...

We've stayed on the 3rd and 1st floors, and each has their plusses:

1st Floor - easy access to restaurants, pool, game room, Uzima Savannah

3rd Floor - easy access to lobby, bus stop, gift shop ... somewhat better views (unless blicked by trees...)

Thanks Joelp I actually asked for 4th or 5th floors on the zebra trail- never hurts to ask I guess, usually never get requests in all 10 years and multiple visits!

Oh well everyone can't get what they want or half the hotel would be empty- no one asks for parking lot veiw-HA!HA!

I am so sad they changed the pool. It just doesn't look nearly as fitting for AKL theme. :confused3 I can't believe they changed it
