Traveling in November with 7, 5 and 2 yr old, Would you recommend AKL standard (my pin only allows standard) or YC water view room?

my concerns are 1) room size (I know YC room is larger and has a daybed, but 2 year old wioll be ina crib anyway)

I've also heard AKL can be along walk to the rooms....?

2) ease of transportation (especially with a stroller) and time to get to parks? and

3) the pool (7 and 5 year olds love the slides) as well as general entertainment for the kids while at the hotel.

Also, if you've stayed at either any recommendations for room location request?

TIA :confused3

What a great choice you have to make!!
We chose YC due to its proximity to parks, (also a stroller user)...I have heard there can be long walks in YC as well...seems like there is entertainment at both resorts....just what is your personal preferance?
I would check out the resort threads located as a "sticky" on the top....loads of info!!

However, I am certain you will receive alot of feedback here!
]have a great trip and welcome to the DIS!!!

We have not stayed at BC/YC but we just stayed at AKL. And we loved it. There was so much for the kids to do. The pool was a great size not too small & not too big the kids loved the slide. If we could do the trip over we have not done TL & spent more time at the lodge.

Thanks DisneyBride and Kae! I was actually going to skip th ewaterparks too and just use the pool.....I was also thinking of splitting the hotels but think it may be too much hassle with 3 DC's. :scared1:

I would skip the waterparks..the pool at the YC...Storm a long Bay (SAB) is 3 acres of water fun..slides...lazy river..THE best pool on WDW property:)
Go to tagrel.com.....there is a slide show...awesome photos!!!!

AKL has a great pool there as well...DD got to stay there with my SIL...zero depth entry..slide...very nice...
I would love to do a split stay someday...but I am the over packer of the century...I would need a whole day unpacking/packing!!
Hope this helps!!

DisneyBride...what awesome pics...(wish it had AKL too) thanks! :goodvibes

According to my kids, it's no contest - AKL. The pool there is great too, just different from SAB. From an adult perspective, SAB was so big that it was tough to keep track of 3 kids and according to my kids, the waterslide there was very slow unless you are heavier. There are still long walks at BC/YC (particularly if you ask for a quiet room), and transportation from there is not great, so there's not a huge benefit that way. Yes, BC is convenient to walk to Epcot, but other than that, you must rely on boats/buses. MGM is most likely too far to walk for 5 and 7 yr olds, unless you have a stroller for them.

Thanks for the kids' perspective TAEMOM, I am shocked to hear that after seeing pics of stormalong bay....the extra savings at AKL is a plus too. :cool1:
Thanks for the thoughton size too, with a 2 yr old I can definitely see it being difficult to keep track of the older 2 and the baby at the same time.....
