AKL or POR/FQ

Planning our 10 yr anniversary weekend trip in May without kids and trying to decide on a hotel. We stayed at what is now POFQ on our honeymoon so there is some sentimental value but visited AKL during last trip and really loved it.

DH is up for either, any opinions?

Oh yes, the AKL for a romantic weekend trip without kids. Much better! Darker and more relaxing decor.

I strongly suggest the POFQ, expecially because you went there for your honeymoon . It is my favorite resort!

My DH and I went to AKL to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary. We had just submitted the paperwork to adopt our daughter and figured it would probably be just about our last "adult" trip for a while. We really enjoyed the decor, the animals and the atmosphere. I've never stayed at POR/FQ, although I have stayed at POR/RS. I liked it well enough, but for a relaxing adult stay - definately AKL.

I like POFQ too, but this is a special occasion and you have come along way in 10 years of marriage, time to live it up

Although I like the theming at AKL, I find it a bit dark in the rooms and a bit small for the oversized furniture they have in there.

I LOVE POFQ. They just completed a thorough rehab this past spring, and it now has all new furniture, paint, carpets, window treatments, and bathrooms. It is absolutely gorgeous. We also love the food court, the water access to DTD, and the fact that you may also use the amenities at PO-R. DD loves the serpent slide! We like the convenience of PO-FQ in relation to the parks.

My choice would definitely be POFQ!

I would definitely pick AKL. I've stayed at POR in the past and liked it, but in my opinion AKL is more of a resort. I think I would enjoy staying at AKL even if I wasn't going into the parks - you can lounge around the hotel, sit on the balcony, good restaurants on-site, plenty of activities.
