I am in the beginning stages of planning a Halloween trip and I can't decide where to stay. It will be me, DH, DS2 and DD1. We haven't been to either the AKL or the BWV. They both look great!! Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!:cool1:

If you are booking using points, you might not be able to get BWV since it is pretty booked up for October right now. If you are using cash directly through Disney, it may be available.

Well that just may be the deciding factor then, lol! We are using points, the whole DVC thing is brand new to us. I guess I will find out more when I book. Thanks so much!

We stayed at AKL using points approx 2 weeks ago and loved everything about it! Our room was close to the elevators, a short walk to the pool and food and close to the laundry. We would definetely stay there again. We drove to the parks and out to eat and really nothing was that far. We used disney transportation a couple of times and didn't wait on a bus more than 5-10min.

If you are a new DVC member, my biggest piece of advice is don't delay. We have been members since '08 and spent the first few years 'fumbling around' until we realize that the only way to make sure you have what you want (besides buying more points in the desired resort) is to make the reservation either 11 or 7 months outs. Before we made that realization, we were putting two or three nights together and then going to a different resort to 'finish' the rest of our vacation. The upside is the different experiences you receive, the downside of course is the additional packing and repacking.

We own at AKL and of course love it. I will say that my husband will only stay there if we get a savannah view.

I too have my eye on BWV and would love to have a stay there. With our current reservations, we are hosting our friends and their kids so we couldn't wait for the 7 month window but had to take advantage of our 11 month window assuring us a two bedroom savannah view villa. Maybe next time for us, but really, either way, you should have a great time....no matter what Disney resort we stay at, we have a fantastic time.

We are current dvc owners at ssr and are awaiting our 1st trip using points. What we did was book as soon as the sale went through at ssr. When the 7 month window came we tried for 3or 4 weeks to see if we could get the full stay at either bcv or bwv. To our surprise we got it.11 nights. So bwv here we come. Now on the flip side my sister (kimmar067) is an akl junkie and she has several threads on akl. After seeing all pics and hearing the different things this resort has to offer. Our next trip we will book ssr at 11 months and try for akl at 7 month. Have fun choosing and enjoy.

I called member services earlier and I was able to book SV at AKL. Not too shabby! BWV was booked for the whole week, oh well, maybe some other time. I thought it would be nice being close to Epcot with the Food and Wine going on but I guess everyone else did too, lol!! Its all good though, we will be in Disney:cheer2:

I'm not a DVC owner, but have stayed in AKL CL with SV view...one of our best trips ever! You will love it!

:thumbsup2
