My lovely bride and I are kicking around bringing the 3 amigos (sons 6,3,1.5) to WDW this December. I've gotten rates thru dreams unlimited for AKL $925 / week for standard room and $431 / week for ASMu. Up until I saw the $431 price, I was starting to dream about AKL. Think AKL is worth an extra $500?
We probably would go to parks 4 days and hang out at hotel 2 or 3 days.

If you are going to be hanging out at the hotel...say at AKL...it is amazing. Hubby and I spent a long weekend there...never left the resort...we just enjoyed the grounds.

We have also stayed at the All Stars...(sports...six times for quick trips and going back again in September). You could hang out there also...the only thing is no hot tub for relaxing in. AKL has two.

I feel that whether the extra money is worth it or not depends on your vacation budget. If the extra $500 is going to cause you to fret over money and does not fit into your vacation budget then stay at the ASMu. But if you can add $500 to your vacation budget without causing stress on the family finances then go for the AKL.

I say blazes to the family budget and go for AKL.

We are giving up a GV at OKW for the points that an AKL concierge stay is costing us. We had a bunch of extra points that needed to be used, and we spent a day at AKL during our last trip. We definitely want to stay there.

I agree with richyams ... we split our last stay between AKL conc and ASMu ... if you can swing the AKL , the extras are definately worth it! KIDS will LOVE the lobby and animals and pool area! It is awesome!!!!!!!

I find that the deluxes are better for a more leisurely stay. If you're staying a whole week, definetly go for a deluxe. You'll find it much more conveinent and relaxing. The All-Stars are fun, but a real vacation is at a deluxe. :D

I think with your three sons you also might need the extra room. A week in a room at AS is way to long in my opinion. You could always split your stay, and stay three or four nights at the All Star ands then the last four or so nights at AKL. I just think you will feel very cramped by the third or fourth night at an All Star. Just my opinion, plus if you want, you can request a room at AKL with bunk beds. If your sons are anything like my six and 3.5 year olds, they will love that!

Oh VERY good point about the bunks, that means the adults get a queen (over the double they'd get at ASMu)... the baby is in a crib...

I'd definitely say the 500.00 is worth it... The resort is extraordinary IMHO... very unique, and especially worth it since you said you'd be spending a few days around the resort...

ALL STAR MUSIC save the money for some nice dinners out i just returned from music we had the best time ever .:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
