With all of the activities they offer, I was wondering what we should definitely make time on our schedule for. It is just DBF and me, so kids-only activities are out.

I am looking forward to the night-vision goggles, myself! :)

My wife and I will be staying at AKL for the first time in December, but we visited last September when we were camping at FW. We had a great time just wandering around. We easily spend a couple hours watching animals. Plus there was a great little "trophy room" to the right of the front desk. Lots of neat stuff to see there, too. I've heard about the night vision goggles, and I'm really looking forward to that. There's also storytelling by the bonfire, which may be a bit kid-oriented, but I'm not sure. I think they also have guided tours of the resort.

Oh, MAN, I wanna go now!

Check out the tour of Boma and Jiko ... it's pretty cool! You'll get the date/time for the tour when you check in. I also had fun doing the Hidden Mickey search. I have the feeling that's more for kids but you can do it at your own pace and it takes you to all parts of the resort :)

Things I think adults would enjoy ~
Culinary Tour of Africa ~ African Folktales (by Arusha Rock Firepit) ~ Animal Viewing with Night Vision ~ Horticulture Activity ~ Spirit of Africa Art Tour ~ Cultural Safari

More kid related ~
Join Guides to build African Bead Necklace at Flamingo Feedings, Animal Tracking, Junior Researcher, Music of the Savanna, Games with Guides.........also.........Cookie Decorating ~ African Games and Crafts ~ African Safari with crayon rubbings ~ Pool Activities

We enjoyed walking all over on our own, talking to the Guides, watching a dance troup in the lobby, listening to music in the lobby.

ps Night vision is nightly for a couple hours. Have several pairs of binocs at Arusha Rock to share. You can get exactly the same vision if your camcorder has night vision (and many do).

My husband and I are also going with no children.
We will be coming in during the afternoon and didn't really plan anything to do that afternoon or evening except going to Boma's for dinner. It sounds like there will be enough to do just around the hotel . Would others say that? Should we just plan on exploring the hotel instead of going anywhere else that evening?

Explore - lots to see and poke about, places to sit, viewing spots............enjoy the hotel !

What time do they do the storytelling by the fire pit???
