Do the washers/dryers at the Animal Kingdom Lodge take quarters or dollars? Is there a change machine?

I'll be doing a load or two of laundry while I'm there & I just wanted to know if I should bring some quarters.

Yes, they take quarters and yes, they have a change machine. However, it is hit or miss whether the change machine is working. It was empty or out of order quite a bit during our past two stays.

Not sure about AKL but at POP, if the machine was out of money you could get change in the gift shop!

If I may add my own 2 cents worth of valuable information (ahem...) - but if at all possible go to your local laundromat and get your laundry soap from there - at 50 cents a box it beats the $1.00 per box they charge at the resorts. I got mine last week - had to was a couple of show pads for a horse show my daughter was in so I killed two birds with one stone, as it were.

Definitely bring your own roll of quarters. It would probably be a good idea to bring more quarters than you need. Disney dryers seem to 'suck quarters' to get your laundry dry. Seems to take forever!

Thanks for the tips! I got my roll of quarters from the bank & I bought a travel size liquid detergent from Target. I only plan on doing a couple of loads so I should be good.
