AKL kidani surprise grand villa

We checked in, we were to get one bedroom which we had wait listed for, everything rented out for the first night. And we were picked family for the day and got a grand villa for part of our stay. I was floored. The kids are saying they each have their own apartment. The giraffes bedded down for the night almost under our balocony and we have three!

AKL check in, said they randomly pick a family of the day. We were chosen. Our surprise was a grand villa for two nights. We are staying more nights we get it for two.

I think this is really cool, but at the same time, I wouldn't want the hassle of having to check out of my room in the middle of my stay. Maybe it's just me, but I think I would have declined this upgrade. I hate packing and unpacking suitcases, and we always unpack all of our stuff into drawers, so it would be a real pain for us. It's too bad it couldn't have been for the entire stay!

Not to rain on the magic, but DVC upgrades are usually the result of a inventory error. They didn't have the OP's room available so they offered the GV.

OP - no matter how you got the upgrade, congrats!!!

the one time we checked in after 8 pm, was the only time (thus far) we received an upgrade for our entire stay @ BCV, studio to a 1 BR.
