Does anyone know the location of the Value Studios at Jambo House? What views, if any? Can you requst a view? I believe all DVC at Jambo House is on the 5th floor, other than concierge 6th floor. I am not as concerned with view type as location of the room, in relation to the lobby. Not sure how many studios are even available. I would love a pool or lobby area room. We have stayed in non DVC rooms in the past, and had crazy long walks to our rooms. Thanks for any help! Jane

in the map linked above, the value villas are along the Ostrich and Giraffe trails. they are toward the front of the resort and don't have the longer walks.

value villas are named "value" because they are a smaller size (3 feet shorter than other AKV studios), nothing at all to do with the view. if you pull out the sofabed, it can get pretty cramped. but they can have a parking lot view, a pool view or a savanna view (and no, they will not accept requests.) i have stayed in them twice, got one savanna view (looking at the map, you'll notice it's the sunset savanna and not the large main savanna) and one parking lot view.

there are only about 10-15 value studios depending on how many of them wind up booked as 2BRs (there's actually a theoretical maximum of 18 value studios if none were booked as 2BRs), so they can be tough to get if you don't book 11 months out.

You can put a request in...Just not a specific room I believe...
We told them we'd like a room close to lobby as possible and pool view, if it was available....We had a Value room, so either way we would have been happy...

Well what we got was peeerfect. Room #5014 was sooo close to the elevator to head right down to the pool / lobby/ store etc.. Also you could go right out that exit & be sooo close for the bus stops...( A little thing we learned during our trip )The view was so nice, & was also a quiet room too. You can see the location from the map provided by chalee... HTH

MS phone lines don't open until 9 AM Eastern.
On-line booking rolls to the next day at 8 AM Eastern.

She is in Central time zone and was referring to her local time, I believe. Good to remember this difference when in another time zone, so pointing out the EST helps (someone who can be a little slow, like me sometimes).

Their location according to their profile is Fairless Hills, PA which is in the Eastern Time Zone.

Good luck! Make sure you get on right at 8AM EST. You may want to get on at 755 and navigate to the reservation page to be ready to enter your arrival date. If nothing is available right at 8AM, keep an eye on it through the day, because it is possible someone will cancel the few days that they don't need and those days will become available, but it will be later in the day.

I don't want to be a downer, but I have been watching the AKV-Value availability since Thanksgiving, and right now it looks like people are walking all room types, or at least the values and 1BR's. It's still worth a try. If it doesn't work out, you could WL those rooms, as many people make 11 month reservations which are more speculative, and may ultimately not be used.

Not to burst your bubble but people booking online at 8 am will beat you to it. I booked two studios at VGF today 11 months out and by 8:12 am they were already booked up.

I would be online at 8 am. I've actually taken off of work an hour or two just to stay home and book my reservations. **so embarrassed**

I got very lucky a couple years ago and snagged a value studio in December for a March trip. At check in I just asked if it was possible to have a savannah view and we were lucky enough to get one. I loved the view and the location.

The room was definitely smaller but worked good since it was just DD and I. Last year I took my niece with us and was glad I had a regular studio since we had to pull out the sofa bed every night. We did Savannah view again but we were way down a hall and it was a hike to get everywhere it seemed.

Well we couldn't book on line at 8am due to we needed to borrow points for this trip so we needed to do this with member services. So I was on phone right at 9am and they didn't have the 5 thru the 12th, only 7th to the 11th. I took a deluxe studio for our intended dates.
Oh well, not a problem. At least we are booked for December. This will be our 3rd December in a row. Love that first two weeks of December.

Just so you know for the future you can borrow points when booking online- you can't buy points from Disney or used transferred points (unless they exactly match your use year/resort).
