I just booked 2 nights at AKL for January 7 and 8, 2005. Yes - I am a planner.
However, I surprised to be told that only "deluxe" rooms were available and the price was $330/night for a pool view room - $735 including tax for the 2 nights. Ouch!
According to another reliable site, prices for a deluxe pool view room for value season (January) 2004 were $285/night. I know the prices go up every year, but this price increase seems too much.
Do you think the CM made a mistake? I fully intend to find a code rate (if they come out) and apply that to my reservation later this year, but to put $350 down now seems like a lot when I am actually hoping to only pay about $200/night (or less) with a discount.
Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts? Should I just cancel this and book at a better rate later? I mean, early January is not the most popular time of the year...
Thanks.
