AKL in Early May

Hmmm, the last time we went in May it was pretty dead. I called today to see how much it would be to upgrade to Concierge at AKL and the CM said the resort was almost completely booked, she checked the Poly and said the same thing. I hope we're not unpleasantly surprised at the crowds this trip.

I think a lot of people from Canada and across the pond (Europe) have booked trips. We are also going in May and had a hard time finding a resort. I have never stayed at AKL and I hope it is a great resort.

My TA has been calling for weeks trying to get our party in a day early
(5/2). We have ressie's 5/3-5/6 but NOTHING has opened up on 5/2 so we've got a ressie at AS Movies - which was also very difficult to secure!

I do know that there's a Minnie Marathon that weekend and the endorsed travel agency for the marathon has a "Princess package" that includes lodging at AKL so I'm thinking they've got a big block of rooms for runners that are snatching all our possibilities!

Also, there was the special code offered for this time period and the Annual Pass code discount so I'm thinking the sea of humanity is gonna be rising!

I'm now a bit worried about CROWDS - at the resort at least!

You are exactly correct. That is indeed the crowd that is there at this time.
We went the 1oth to the 13th of April, and this is what we found.
We did not find the crowds over burdensome. Crowded yes (but when isn't it?) but not terrible.
We went early, followed the touring schedule in the "unofficial guide to Disney" took a midday break, and returned for evening magic hours.
It's not really a problem even if it is crowded if you plan properly.

As a final note, AKL is just wonderful.

We've been down 5 times in the month of May.

I have always found the crowds "moderate" even when the resorts were booked to capacity.
