I had a quick question...

My family is thinking of switching to AKL for our Dec 1-9 trip. My concern is that since it is possible that we might have cold weather, the animals won't be out much.

Has anyone been this time of year to tell me if it is worth switching. My husband says he would only stay there if we had a savannah view room. So his main reason is to see the animals.

We stated December 10-15 last year. We had a standard room but saw the animals all the time. The cooler weather didnt really seem to affect them but it never was lower than 40 for that trip, I dont know if it is going to freeze what they do?

It is my favorite resort, I told dh last night we could just move on in there and stay forever! Give it a try if you havent stayed there yet, just be mindful of the construction.

We typically go 2nd week in December and the weather has been nice 80% of the time and cold the other half. By cold i mean low's in the 50's and warming up to the high 60's low 70's in the afternoon.

We always take a few winter clothes items just in case it's cold, but the majority of the time we end up going in shorts to the park. Don't worry, the weather will be awesome.:wizard: We'll be there 12/8 - 12/15.:thumbsup2 :cool1:

We were just there this past December for Xmas and had a Savannah view. It was awesome :thumbsup2 , we had a few warm days and a few cool days, the animals I think like the cooler weather they were out alot. We enjoyed their company the whole time we were there. Have fun!!! it is a beautiful resort, Santa and a few other characters were in the hotel lobby one of the days we were there :santa: .

We stayed at the AKL the week before Christmas 2005. The weather was so cold we wore winter coats and gloves. There were plenty of animals on the savannahs.

Can't wait until then. We booked a pool view room in the hopes that we could take the time to walk around and see the animals while there.

There are plenty of places to watch them from different areas of the hotel. Be sure to go out to one of the viewing areas at night and they will let you look through the night vision goggles :3dglasses (really cool).

We were there early December this past year. We did not have a Savannah view but enjoyed watching the animals from various areas. We saw lots of animals. I particularly enjoyed the night vision binoculars :cool2: that the cm would be out there sharing. Unbelievable stay! :dance3:
