AKL Guest Relocations... Another Question

Has anyone changed their dates instead of changing resorts? I have a package for September, and I was wondering if they would just allow me to change the dates to another month and still keep the same price and free dining package. I would lose non-refundable airfare though...

Another question is... will they allow you to downgrade to a moderate and then give a deeper discount or extra bonuses of some sort?

If we can only upgrade (not even sure if we will have to worry about it for our dates yet), which resort would you opt for? I am thinking I would ask for either Poly or YC/BC/BCV. I need to have a resort that has a kid's club (babysitting) since I'm a single mom and won't have anyone along to help out. I want to be able to go solo in the parks on a couple of nights...

My guess is that with the free dinning you won't be able to change dates(outside of the promo dates), right now the rumor mill says that AKL should be ok in Sept. As for the kids clubs, you can use them at any hotel whether or not you are staying at that particular hotel or not.

from what I was told by sept they should be back on track, ( they re moving alot of guest around that have dates before sept. and are playing it by ear) and although some of the resort will be closed they still will have some rooms and the resort will remain operational. If you are concerned about the resort then you can call and move to a new one. you can down grade too. Im not sure they'd let you change your dates without loosing your free dining. You can always ask and see what they say. IMHO I would wait until late august to make any changes, you never know what things might change with construction and other things that may not affect you!

As for the kids clubs, you can use them at any hotel whether or not you are staying at that particular hotel or not.

I know I could, but I think it would be a HUGE inconvenience at the end of the night to take a bus to one resort to pick him up, then another bus to DTD or one of the parks in order to catch yet another bus back to our hotel. That does NOT sound fun at all to me... I did consider it though, I felt like it was worth the money to stay at one of the hotels that has their own kid's club.

I'm not worried about having to move at this point. If we have to move, we will. We really like AKL though and I was just wondering if anyone had been offered the chance to change their dates rather than their hotel.

Just checking again to see if anyone has asked to change their dates at this point.

It looks like the relocations are starting to creep into September, so I am hoping to stay at AKL but want to be prepared in case I get "the call". I think my first choice would be to change dates and my second choice would be to move.

One more thing... if they call me 45 days or less before my trip and I decide to cancel because of the move, they won't charge me the cancellation fee will they? Anyone have any experience with this???
