AKL gift shop

Is it good? Does it only have your typical Disney merchandise, or does it also have anything unique to Africa/safari style/animal merchandise? Is it similar to the AK park merchandise or offer interesting items? We're not big shoppers, but find ourselves strolling through our resort gift shop. We'll only have two nights on a split stay here and was wondering (excitedly curious) if we'd find interesting items worth checking it out. Thanks!

now since don't shop in the parks - only in the resorts and DD - can't help you there.

AKL Jambo has one of the best gift shops onsite in my opinion. Sure it has your typical Disnmey souveniers that you can find anywhere, but it also has a lot of very unique African items as well.

I love the gift shop at AKL . As the pp said, it has the traditional Disney stuff, but it also has unique African items as well .

When my DH and I stayed there for our 20th ann. we went everyday. I loved looking at all of the wonderful African things. I bought some too, they were not that $$. So enjoy.

I love it. I strolled through it at least once a day, and walked through it every time we walked to/from the buses. They've got a good variety. Wishing I was there now...

I agree. Even though merch. across the board has gotten pretty homogenized over the last few decades, it's still my favorite resort gift shop.

We love the Jambo house gift shop. It is one of my favorite places to shop on property. The souvenirs that we use the most all came from that gift shop (I especially love my coffee mug with animal prints as Mickey ears).

The gift shop is great! They have African merchandise and Animal Kingdom Lodge Merchandise. I bought a really cute sweatshirt there last year that is gray with a giraffe and says Animal Kingdom Lodge. My sister bought an AKL hat. Very cute stuff!
