We have standard room ressies and want to fax a room request .Which std room has a good location ? I have read about ones that are near the bus stop and are very noisy. Are there any others more quietly? Thanks

Based on the map, there aren't a whole lot of standard view rooms. At other, non-Disney hotels, I often request a "quiet" room. This is usually translated as away from the elevators & not across from the ice machine :)

When I stayed at AKL 2 weeks ago, I had a standard view room & didn't request anything. They gave me a 1st floor pool side room, not too far from the elevators & across from Simba's. It was quiet from the inside, but there was pool noise if I had the sliding door open.

The only weird thing was thing soft banging noise that seemed to be coming from ALL OVER the hotel above me. It was constant, yet random. Perhaps closing doors? Flushing toilets? It was driving me crazy! I went to sleep early both nights, before 10, and used 1 ear plug (I sleep on my side!).

I hope someone else can help with a room recommendation! Maybe an upper floor, so as to be as far away from any ground noise as possible?

We had a lovely standard view room at the AKL that faced the handicapped parking lot. It was on the 3rd floor -the same level as the lobby. It was very private sitting on the balcony as there were plenty of privacy plantings between us & the parking lot. Enjoy your stay! We enjoyed our meals at Boma's & Mara's - be adventuresome - try the food. We also enjoyed the evening storytelling the & afternoon lobby tour.

We had a room on 4th floor two rooms from the end near the bus stops. It was NOT noisy, you could barely hear the buses and being at the end, the hallways were quiet. I would recommend it to anyone and would choose it again if I had to stay in a Standard room (it was a bunkbed room). I liked being on the end near the pool and eateries. -HM
