AKL Construction ???

We are booked for 10/16-10/23; I have read that people have been offered a different resort because of construction. What is the word for construction in October, I really want to stay at AKL, but if it's going to be noisy I will switch, my daughter is a napper and needs quiet for our afternoon break. Help ?!

I think you should be fine...they are taking great care to keep all occupied guest rooms away from construction noise. The majority of the construction inside the AKL itself will be done before you arrive so it should not be an issue.

You can always tell them you have nappers in the group when you check in and ask specifically to be away from any internal noise.

not sure about Oct. but I was there this weekend and the 5th floor is already closed...sorry I can't tell you more...I'm sure AKL can readily give you an approx. answer for end of completion date..can't think it would be done by then! I'm going to be there then as well...but camping at the Fort instead...

I spoke to a CM about a MYW package discount that just came available. At first she said it was good for my dates in August for AKL. Then she said there was a block out of rooms and that I cannot book the discount at this time because they are not accepting reservations. Even though I have had my ressie for 5 months. She said to call back later and check but that it is possible that we may get moved to another resort. Obviously we are not happy unless we get moved to Poly with Concierge. Do you think they would make this type of upgrade to compensate? Do you think that because the rooms were blocked from making reservations, that means I will be getting a call? UGHHHH

What did you think of the crowd level at the hotel (i.e. at the pools, food court, busses) - for a summer crowd, do you think it was lower than you expected or about the same?

I had a similar experience this morning. I've been booked for AKL in August since January. Now that a code finally became available for our dates, I was super-excited and called. The CM said the discount would work, and quoted a new rate that saved us about $500. He then said he had to check something on his screen, put me on hold, and came back and said it was an error, that AKL doesn't have discounts. It's pretty annoying that everyone else on property can get a discount that we can't because we have chosen AKL!

OK I admit I can me a tad spacey What codes? I am booked for free dining 4 day hopper and paying $183 per person Savannah view sept 15 - 19.
