We are debating on staying at AKL next September for a few nights and though concierge might be neat since it is only 13 pts a night at that time. My question: what kind of food and beverages are available? Are they available 24/7? Any other information I may need to know.....

Thanks

Me, too. :goodvibes (We'll be there in January and DH is driving me  with just that question! :rolleyes1 )

When we stayed in AKL Concierge a few years ago, the morning offerings came out in the AM for a few hours. Likewise for the midday and evening offerings. There were times when nothing was available except for some canned sodas or water.

never stayed at AKL concierge, but did other places.

The food/snacks/beverages wont be out 24 hours no, maybe some soda, coffee, teas, but definately not the food

just be aware that the current concierge rooms are not all guarenteed savanah view, although 2 different MS reps told me they were, several others told they were not

We stayed a few days a couple of Octobers ago. We found the Lounge very useful. We ate breakfast in there most mornings as they had a fairly good selection of fruits, rolls, cereal, coffee and tea.

During the lunch time area they had many finger foods, taquitos, wings etc.

In the evenings they had diffent cordials (Cognac and brandies) along with some different african wines.

We also found that when ever we went up there they would get us a couple of bottles of water whenever we wanted, but we did have to ask.

They also have a cappucinno maker to make mochas, lattes and such if you are into those types of things.

Lemonade, cherry aid, and some other drinks were almost always available in the dispensers in the middle of the lounge and was always fresh.

We enjoyed our stay, make sure you look into the Sunset and Sunrise Safaris as you can only do those when you stay Concierge.

:cool1:

So, the only time I've stayed concierge before, it was in a garden suite at BWI. When we arrived, the guard at the gate must have alerted the bellhop/valet that a concierge guest was checking in, because the bellhop met us and led us straight to our room (skipping the check-in desk), where the concierge met us and checked us in.

Is it the same way for AKL concierge? Or do you check in at the front desk?

Same @ AKL. :thumbsup2 Bellman does meet you and will bring you & your luggage directly to your room (if it's ready). You can stop by the CL desk in the 6th floor lounge after you get settled in to complete your check-in. (If you arrive before your room is available, the bellman will bring you to the Lounge to check in and store your luggage.) :)

Cool, thanks for the info! We'll be getting in mid-morning, so our room probably won't be ready, but we'll definitely want to store our bags and maybe have a snack!

In terms of view. I believe that the concierge villas have either pool or savanna view.
