AKL Concierge Question

I just emailed AK IPO to advice them of my upcoming stay (Oct 2008). I booked my reservation in Nov. with MS. IPO stated they were unable to pull up my reservation. Is this normal? I can see reservation when I sign into member site.

I think they say to contact them 180 days out from your check-in.

We will be at AKV conceirge level Oct 31st!

Did you provide the reservation number or were they just trying to find it on their own? If the latter, it could be that the systems just don't interface or whatever the proper term is.

You can contact them prior to 180 days. In fact, I certainly would if you are asking them to obtain difficult reservations like CRT or Chef's Table at V&A.

I contacted them via email well before 180 for one of our two reservations because I wanted to request the Sunrise Safari for both trips. They just note the requests somehow and enter at the proper time. I did include the reservation numbers for both stays. In fact I usually put it in the subject line.

They told me dvc reservations are in a different system, so if they don't realize you're dvc they won't be able to find you. In any event, you can't book the safaris or dining until 180 days in advance, so I'm not sure what they'd do for you this far in advance.

We will be there Nov 9-12 and when we made the ressie and told MS we were going to sign up for Sunset Safari they asked if we wanted Concierge to call us. But of course, and in a couple of hours Conciege called got the credit card and signed us up for the Safari. They said the card would not be charged until Nov and they would make sure we were on the list at the 180 day mark. I am guessing we are not actually signed up because it's not yet 180 days, just in the "system".

Don't know if this is the way it is for everybody, hope so but we love the service.

I did not mention on my email to them that I booked through DVC. I'm going to send them email and see if they can locate. Thanks!
