AKL Concierge/Poolview ressie question

We're staying at AKL for ten nights. The first night we're staying room only concierge so we can take the safari the next morning. We then have nine nights pool view (7/4 DV package). Has anyone ever done this and NOT had to move from their initial room? I was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to deluxe (with or without concierge privileges) just to avoid the hassle of having to unpack/pack on the day of our safari. Has anyone ever done this without having to upgrade? I'm just trying to get a feel for the possibilities. Thanks in advance for your replies!

My first concierge trip to AKL in mid January started out reg savannah view, then concierge, then finally ending regular savannah view (AP rate couldn't be found for the entire trip and I didn't want to pay rack rate so I combined the dated I could!). I asked to NOT move to the upgraded concierge room in order to keep my room for the entire stay. There was not a problem with this at all. I requested fourth floor on the very very end pod of Zebra Trail, and received it! I loved our room, and didn't miss the extra square footage of the room. This room also had the extra dresser in it, and an entry way before you entered the room. Since we were on the "corner" on the end, we had a slightly longer balcony which was nice. There were only two of us on this trip. I "downgraded" my entire trip figuring that it would be easier to do.

During our second concierge trip we stayed concierge the entire time so room changes weren't an issue.

Whatever happens, you're going to love AKL and especially their concierge services! Enjoy your trip and happy planning!

I don't think the deluxe rooms are worth it. I didn't notice much of a size difference between the deluxe room and regular savannah view.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but wondered when your concierge entitlements would expire- as of 11am at check out do you suppose?
