Good Morning,

We're planning a week in Nov at the AKL. We're hoping to get a 2br on the
Concierge level. With that in mind, I have a few questions.

1. The map of the resort makes it look huge. How long does it take to walk to elevators (from teh farthest point) and also to the bus stop(s).

2. Is there only a single bus stop for the entire resort?

4. Are there multiple pools at this resort?

5. Where is the concierge lounge, and is it easily accessable?

6. How are the food and drink offereings at the Concierge Lounge?

7. Do the 2br suites have a washer/dryer in the room?

8. We normally stay at OKW where I park my car outside the room. This makes it easy go shopping and bring in food items. Does the hotel have Bell service, and can they assist in bringing multiple bags up to the room?

OK..it was more than a few questions. Thanks in andvance for any help.

I'll do my best to answer you, but first I'll let you know that the likelihood that you'll be getting a 2 bedroom on the concierge level is almost nil. Especially if you are not a DVC member and again not likely if you haven't already booked. You may be able to get a 1 bed or a studio if you area DVC member but nothing if you are not.

It won't take more than a few minutes. The resort doens look huge but it's not too bad.

2. Is there only a single bus stop for the entire resort? Yes, 1 bus stop but multiple buses, for each park every 20 minutes or so. no other stops, direct service.

4. Are there multiple pools at this resort? 1 pool and two (or 3) hot tubs. it is a zero entry pool so you can walk right in or small kids can play at the edge like at the beach.

5. Where is the concierge lounge, and is it easily accessable? Concierge lounge is on the 6th floor. It is easy to to get to from that floor as you would just walk outside your room and be only a few steps from it. from regular (non-DVC) rooms it is an easy elevator ride up. You will need to use your key to access the floor. There is also back stairs.

6. How are the food and drink offereings at the Concierge Lounge? Wonderful! I found that we never went hungry and there was always something to snack on. breakfast had a lot of food but I missed ahving the toaster for my bagels.

7. Do the 2br suites have a washer/dryer in the room? They are not suites, they are DVC villa's so they ahve a washer/dryer and full kitchen plus a kitchenette since they are all lock-off rooms.

8. We normally stay at OKW where I park my car outside the room. This makes it easy go shopping and bring in food items. Does the hotel have Bell service, and can they assist in bringing multiple bags up to the room? yes there is bell services. they will help you with whatever you need. Be prepared to tip per bag. Also ther is valet parking which costs also.

If you have any more questions, ask away! They will get answered. Also there is a great AKL thread to answer all of your questions and more. her is the link to the latest one.

Okay now that I've looked at your Signature, You look, like a DVC member. Still your chances are not likely for a 2 bed, studio or a 1 bed may be an option but a lot of us AKV owners are not even able to get concierge at the 11 month mark booking day by day so I guess it really depends on your week and hope for the best.

Thanks for the info....

Yes, I am a DVC owner. I'm hoping to get lucky with a 2br, but would settle for the 1br if that's all that is available.

Are the 2br's that are not on the concierge floor more accessable?

The 2 beds that are not concierge are easier to get but still couldn't guarantee that any would be available. Right now AKV's are very small and everyone that recently bought in is trying to get their weeks and they still ahve a few months to book. I would call day by day at the 7 month mark to try for what you want.

Thinking of a making a last minute trip in mid-May, what are the odds there would be anything available for 1BR at AKL ? Realize that it's most likely too late, but you guys seem to have a good idea of how far everything is booked thru and thought I'd cross my fingers and ask. Unfortunately I'm not a DVCer (yet), but rented last year for a stay at BCV and will look at trying to rent again for this trip if anything is still open.

Thanks in advance,
