We're about to book a studio for an adults only anniversary trip and thought Jambo concierge level would be nice but does anyone know if these rooms have savannah views? If not I'm thinking of going for a Kidani savannah view studio instead.

We've never stayed at this (our home) resort so I'm looking forward to any advice from folks that have.

Thanks!

Only 3 of the 5 studios have savannah view. They are on the sunset savannah, the other 2 face the pool.

Thanks for the quick response. :)

Have you ever stayed in a concierge level studio? Do you think it's worth the extra points? Or should I just book the Kidani savannah view that's 14 points cheaper?!

I've stayed in the AKV concierge and really like the rooms. That said, when I bring relatives to AKV I stay in the savanna view rooms to make sure they get a savanna view. We've stayed there often enough that it isn't critical to us to get concierge savanna view.

Since we're bringing family in March 2010 I have a 2 bedroom dedicated savanna view at Kidani reserved. But my plan for March 2011 when it is just DH and me is to get a one bedroom concierge.

Except for breakfast, we've never been around for hot food offerings, but we have been for the snacks in the PM, and then we've enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening.

We booked concierge for the services they offer, like booking Le Cellier for us during the upcoming free dining period, and we especially enjoyed the Sunrise Safari which is only available to concierge level guests.

The Wanyama safari, was "OK" in my book, not something I would do again. I enjoy the food at Jiko's but I would be happy with one entree and not sampling things. I had a bad night after that meal, it was something I ate and that makes my experience less than happy.

The Sunrise and Wanyama safaris were things we did in March, we're staying CL in September and trying the Wildlife Discovery Excursion. That's the third animal viewing offering that you can book using CL.

We had a room on the 5th floor, and it faced the Sunset Savannah. There was a problem with the reservation at the hotel level, maybe they overbooked, but we were given concierge lounge use and we had turndown service. We had booked CL at 11 months out, so they were expecting us. Our savannah view was great, but I understand that if you are on the 6th floor you get a roof overhang. We'll see, whatever we get in September, it will be fine.

I agree with Bobbi....we book concierge for the services, not the view. FYI, we found that they tend to put the 2 bedroom reservations on the savanna view side and break up the 2 on the pool view side into studio and 1 bedroom units. We are staying in a studio in December on CL, and I'm expecting to get the pool view because of that. No matter though, because there will be plenty of other trips on savanna views, and CL is something we wont do everytime.

Thanks KPH500 for asking this question! This is our first time to WDW and AKV 1 bedroom concierge level. I hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions too! :goodvibes

What do the experienced recommend, the 5th or sixth floor? I do not understand the comment on the overhang, do you mean the overhang is shade (a good thing) or something that is not desirable?

Is a one bedroom able to sleep four 2 adults, 2 older teens) comfortably or is it too small?

I thought that all of the Concierge rooms were on the sixth floor? :confused3

They are for DVC. There was a mixup of sorts on the hotel side of the equation and so we had a savannah view room on the 5th floor, but CL privileges.

You will be on the 6th floor. Bobbi ended up on the 5th floor due to a booking problem of some sort or because a room was taken out of service.

The roof overhang blocks part of the view, particularly when you are looking out of the sliders from inside the room. To me, the bigger problem with being on the 6th floor is that you are above the level of the tree tops and they block a large portion of the view. There could be lots of animals not far from your room but you can't see them through the trees. The lower floors put you below the tree tops where the view is unobstructed.

I stayed CL in a studio and had a savanna view and I have a reservation for another CL studio in late December. I was pretty happy with the SV but I understand that I might get a pool view and I am OK with that. I would prefer the savanna view but if I don't get it, it's not the end of the world as I am prepared for it.

We did make sure we were back in time for the evening snackies and they were very good! We were also able to request beer and wine from the CL CM in the afternoon before the alcohol service officially started at 5:00 pm. CL is very nice and I think it would be great for an anniversary celebration!

ETA: Here are some pictures I took from my room. That's Kidani being built in the distance.
