AKL-Concierge---Is it worth it?

Is there a difference between concierge and club level concierge or are they the same?

It is the same. WDW is trying to get us used to saying Club Level rather than Concierge because they have Concierge desks by the front desk (for tickets, dining, etc.) which is available for all guests to use, and it was confusing people! (still is!!!)

Your son will be fine on the safari my son was only 2 when we took him. It was so amazing and our son was so occupied by the animals he never made a peep the whole time. The breakfast included with the safari was awesome and my husband still talks about it. LOL. It should only be about $50 more per night if you are comparing savannah view to CL. I am pretty sure all the new CL rooms on the 4th floor are savannah view. The non savannah rooms were smoking rooms and since it is no smoking and the addition of the villas I dont think any of the cl rooms are pool or standard view.

When I booked CL AKL today, the CM said that all the CL rooms were savannah view. Yay!

This is making me more excited. I had booked AKL concierge for September and now I am even more excited after reading everything everyone wrote here...WOOHOO!!!

Yeah, hubby agreed to stay CL:cheer2: ----I knew the beer would do it!!!! :rotfl2: DS caught me talking on the phone tonight so he now knows about trip in April:sad2: -really wanted it to be a surprise. But, I think we will keep the sunrise safari a secret! He will be so thrilled.

One of the highlights of our 10 day trip was the Sunrise Safari. It was just awesome, and the breakfast served after was probably the best we had all trip. However, if it was offered to all guests I'm not sure if we'd book CL there again.
I didn't find the lounge all that comfortable, so we never hung out there. The CM's in the lounge were really of no help to us at all, in fact there seemed to be some bickering going on among them. After all the positive things I've read about the staff there though, I'd have to say we probably hit them on an off weekend. We did receive great service from all the other CM's on the hotel property, just on not in the lounge :confused3 .
The IPO on the other hand was outstanding. We stayed at the GF and BWI CL on that trip and AKL IPO was by far the best. They ended up handling trip planning for our entire stay.
Is it worth it? That depends on what you're looking for. For us doing the Sunrise Safari made it worth it. The rooms seemed a little small for CL deluxe, but the safari view was so special that it didn't matter. Either way, the hotel is simply amazing and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.

When we checked in to the GF last December I had to let the bellman know we were staying CL. I made it a point to refer to it as, "club level" after hearing it repeatedly on the DIS. I felt very in the know until the man gave me a confused looked and after thinking about it informed me that it was called, "concierge level". Boy did I feel like a dork! :rotfl:
I guess he never got the memo!

My DH LOVED the Morocco beer served in the lounge. I think that alone made it worth it to him  . Let your hubby know that if he doesn't see the beer out he can ask a CM for it. We would always be coming in late and it wouldn't be in the fridge, they were more than happy to get some for us.
Make sure you remember your camera for the Sunrise Safari! We took so many. We all loved the safari, I know you will too ;) .

Have a wonderful trip.

Perhaps you should read a book entitled Your Money or Your Life and then make your decision.

WOW; your rates are great. I was quoted A LOT more to upgrade from savanna to concierge level so I passed. (can't remember exactly how much more but it was very pricey!) We're doing the sunset safari ($210 instead of $150 or $160). Just couldn't justify paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars more for a concierge room for 4 nights. It just hurt my pocketbook too much. Maybe another trip (a short one). :rotfl2:
