AKL compared to WL

We are booked at AKL 5-7 thru --13 but really wanted WL. There were no rooms left using BUC code and I can't justify the difference to stay there without the code since we are in the room for such a short time each day.
I keep checking and hoping for cancellation at WL but at this time no luck. I have stayed at WL the last two times and really love the feel and convience ot it. Am I going to be disappointed this time staying at AKL or should I try somewhere else? I welcome any comments or advise.

Give it a try! It is such a gorgeous resort with the same kind of relaxed, out-of-the way feel as WL (maybe even more so). Don't even look back, just be happy you are going and totally enjoy!

I have stayed at both and AKL is hands down my favorite resort. I aboslutely love it. I know everyone has there own preferences but, this place is amazing. I think you will enjoy!!

We were in similar situation. I wanted to book standard or woodsview at WL for similar dates and they only had a bunk bed courtyard view at WL at the discount which compared to the discount we're used to wasn't much of a discount. But, they did have AKL standard view available and since we've been to WDW numerous amounts of times and have stayed at WL several times and S/D on a regular basis I thought it might be kinda neat to try AKL.

We love JIKO so we've visited the resort several times and are looking forward to trying BOMA as well. The pool is beautiful and the savannah areas are a real experience.

I can't say I've been "thrilled" with their transportation as we've done the bus thing there and back a few times and sometimes it's taken quite a while, that sometimes I told myself next time I'd definitely drive next time.

That's probably my only concern (from experience ), but I am looking forward to a new experience. I have no expectations (except for the bus service...LOL), so I won't compare it to other resorts because it's so unique. So, belle46 we just might run into you...at a bus stop to/from AKL somewhere!
