AKL - Coffeemakers: Coffee supplied?

Hello,
I just saw in another post that at a moderate resort, only the first bag of coffee for the coffeemaker was supplied. Is that true at AKL as well? Do they supply fresh coffee every day or should I bring my own? Does anyone recall if they have decaf coffee for the machines or just regular?

They give you 1 regular and 1 decaf, and two tea bags. Each day when housekeeping comes in they will refresh your supply. You can always ask for more. I brought along extra coffe and filters and never used them. It is a 4 cup coffee maker.

It's supplied, but ooohhh is it bad. I always grind enough beans the day we leave to cover me for the whole time I'm there and put it in an airtight container along with some 4-cup filters. I don't understand why a place with such universally good food can have such universally bad coffee. The only place I have found good coffee is in that bakery on Main Street in MK. And the pressed pot at Boma. All the rest has been weak or waaaaay too strong, burnt, nasty not-even-coffee-tasting swill. :crazy2: Sorry. It's the one thing I hate about WDW!

Is the same true for YC? That coffee packets and tea bags are provided every day?

Even the coffee made from the packets provided is bad? I'd heard that the coffee in the restaurants is bad and had decided to switch to tea there.

I thought they all gave you at least 1 (1 decaf/1 reg) a day with housekeeping if you have a coffeemaker :confused3

I really don't care for it. It always tastes stale to me, but I like really fresh coffee and grind my beans every day. If you are used to coffee that is ground in advance then it would probably be okay. The time that I didn't bring my own they left a regular and a decaf packet daily.

I agree, it is really bad coffee. I bought some of those filter pack that you can get. They are like little pods of coffee that are designed to work in a smaller pot. They were so much better then what was at AKL.

Do you have to request a coffeemaker, or is it already in the room?
:cheer2: Go Coffee! (DD8 loves the smilies!)

Silly question, maybe, but what kind of filter...basket or cone, and where do you buy the pods? I'll bring what I need rather than drink bad coffee.

They are premade filters with the coffee already in the filter. The look kind of like a little UFO. You can buy them in the grocery store in the coffee section. A lot of hotels use this kind of filter/coffee thing now.

Thank you. I will bring the little UFO's :) with me.
