I’ve got AKV Club level room booked for a week next August just wondering what people are thinking about when it will be open and if it will go back to being a different experience, I was last there in August 2019.
is it wrong that my son‘s favorite quote from the holiday was when the CM said to my husband “Another Merlot Sir?” As this happened most days


the only thing that concerns me about this booking is that if not open you dont get additional points (between non-CL rooms) back until after stay completed

is this a risky booking?

I have said this a lot, but I don't believe they open it until AKL opens. The cost to operate is not covered by the 5 lock offs. I also believe AKL will be one of the last deluxes to reopen, as it is the largest still closed save Poly.

Do you think there is anything particular stopping AKL opening to be later than others, is it the rare human to animal CV-19 transmission?

If you're OK with getting the point differential refunded, it's not much risk at all.

Even if this is magically cured, I don't see buffets ever coming back in the way they used to be.

I would book another category, just because this is all so uncertain.

I was thinking of hedging the risk by split staying, spending 2nd week at another resort, we are using some banked points so would need to rent them out afterwards if CL closed.

Of the deluxe resorts not open, it's the largest. By a lot. It is easier to gradually increase availability by opening WL, BC and BWI ahead of AKL.

Yea, split stay seems like a good solution. Maybe only book a couple night CL? Then it's special if it is there, and not the end of the world if it isn't.
