AKL CL ? Safari?

I have heard they have changed the CL am AK Safari to Thurs. and Sun. If so, can you be checking out on Thurs. and still be able to do the Safari? What are the times? Would love some AKL CL feedback also ug: !Thanks!

why don't you call the AKL concierge itinerary planners and ask them to be sure.
But it seems to me that you should be able to do the safari on the morning you check out.

The safari is great. All 4 of us enjoyed it. we stayed at the AKL concierge specifically to do the sunrise safari.

by the way, space is limited, so you need to reserve this in advance....

I don't think I am supposed to get in touch with the CL planners before I book! That is why I am asking if anyone has been able to do this before I decide to book it! Soooo, has anyone been able to do the safari on the day they were checking out??? If so, please reply! Thanks!

Jacksmom, you're correct. The pre-planners are only available to those guests who have an active concierge reservation in the system.

I've read posts from guests who have checked in the morning of the safari and been able to go on it. I'm sure you would still be welcome if it's your check out day. I know the lounge is available for your use throughout the day, so you should be entitled to any of the amenities. It can leave the resort anytime between 6:30am and 7:30am. The tour is advertised as being about 45 minutes in length, followed by the buffet breakfast. I would simply request a late checkout for that day, which is usually 1pm. You could still probably make an 11am checkout time though. The only problem I see is space. If it's for the trip that's listed on your counter, you are only 2 months away. Booking for the safari opened up at 90 days and it can sell out.

Thanks! Yes, we are late planning! But I have just talked dh into a night before our cruise! We will be staying a week after also, so I would like more of a "resort" stay before and I thought AKL would be a good choice with the Safari as a bonus! But haven't decided for sure ! I have given myself Mon. as a deadline to book ! The web site shows availability though!

Just an FYI that you'll need AK park passes for the sunrise safari. Worst case, you could book the concierge room, check with the IPO staff for safari availability and based on that, either keep the room, or downgrade to a standard floor. If your plans are to arrive early or by mid-afternoon for check in and then basically just enjoy the resort, I think concierge level is a good choice. They have a nice relaxing lounge.

i've done it many times...
