Well this was our last night at the Lodge, we were going to move over to My home resort Boardwalk Villas. Although I love the Boaardwalk and it is my older childrens fave. AKL is still my fave, so I was a little sad. And of course sad to leave that fabulous suite. So I headed off to the lounge. Anyone who has been to AKL knows you must pay attention to your corridor or you may never find your way back;) WEll just outside our door there mounted on the wall was a collection of fishing spears from the congo. There were 5. as I left to go to the lounge I noticed there were now 4. And one of the remaining was broken. I went back in the room and called security posthaste. I was livid. Now first of all who does somthing such as this?????? Destroying artwork. for what a memento? Now I will say in the room next to us. were a family of 4 2 young girls who ran back and forth unsupervised mamny, many, times. Dad was on the balcony with a large bottle of scotch he was sipping from straight. Now I have no problem with that per say, However when you are supervising children that should be a no no. So just my vent about that, They had checked out and thats, that. Ok so we had express checkout and just tearfully(ME) left. we drove to Boardwalk and I ran in alone (kids with NAna) to check in, It was 11:30. Hello I know my room is not ready, could I check in and cut my keys so I can go to MGM? He moroselly cuts the keys, SHAD,was very much devoid of his magic...Anyway he throws 3 loose keys on th ecounter no envelope nothing. I say can I have an envelope and the number to call to check if Its ready when I get back. He replies . mam they only check out 17 minutes ago. Ok I just said I know its not ready, later???? So off to MGM. It was very crowded We met our other 2 groups just inside the gate, the 2 teens went off....Aunt and her family went off they were only staying like 2 hours, they were going to the castle at 4 so we bid them farewell. SIL and ds 9, head off to TOT and RRRC, walkiie talkie in hand, mom, nana and twins head to mermaid, we fast passed that its a 65 min wait. And head to muppetts. WE see Muppetts and then nan wants to eat its about 1pm. WE head to the commisary, she is in line 40 minutes the twins are going crazy. Nan fiannaly gets back. All that for 2 chicken nugget meals and a tomato salad. Boys are standing eating on the bench. Just as mom says sit down you are going to fall. down he comes, and GETS HIS STRAW IN HIS EYEBALL!!!!!!! yes, I tell you the truth dead center in the eye. Much screaming ensues we stop at first aid, they say well you should take him to the doc. Well yes...no offer to geet us there, guest relations??? give me a break, SO we get in a cab get the car at the Boardwalk and then off to Celebration er again... He was asleep in the stroller. nana had the other guy and drove around for an hour, Still I had not been seen, so she came in and left took the key and went back to Boardwalk. I arrived close to 2. and was seen at 4:30. By then he was awake and screaming, I was crying like a dishrag. After triage were the male nurse happened to be the Uncle of a friend of my daughters from home. He saw the address and asked if I knew him, that was weird. The same Doc I had in May was there he actually remembered us, He is very sweet. A fireman from came over and gave him a stuffed bunny, ( THANK YOU:) ) And turns out he tore about 80% of his cornea. No perforation, thank god. After getting a script. Off we were to Boardwalk. Then we sent nana on a marathon quest to find a Walgreens or anyone who will fill a script for Coedine on A sunday night at this point. All stores were open but no pharmacy sections were. So after we got the script everyone went To Epcot. Myself and the babies went to bed. were even with the coedine he screamed off and on all night. It was awful. he was in so much pain. I just couldn't even believe it. We don't got to the Er at home. Now twice the last 2 trips, we end up there, By now my kids must think its an attraction. I swear we are the worlds most dysfunctional travelers. Obviously it turns out ok, as I write this they are watching Lilo and Stitch, SO everyone has survived. More when they got to Bed.;)

I wonder if the ER's take names- we've visited it EVERY time we've gone to Disney- but for nothing so tragic as a straw in the eye- just asthma ick. My heart goes out to you sweetie- the hassle with pharmacy alone is a pill!! After waiting 3 hours for steroids our son desperately needed we found out they only gave him half the prescription. Always check before you leave! :)
I'll say a special little prayer for your baby- a corneal tear is AWFUL pain, but they seem to heal faster when they're younger. You've got a GREAT outlook and handled all these bumps so well- your children are blessed to have a very patient mommy. Thanks for the reports- hope it gets better!!!

They do take names!!! when we followed up the next am, with an eye doc. He said, I hear you are a frequent visitor to celebration, ER!! I said, OMG is there like a report somewhere on me? And he said Oh no, you just somehow managed to get the same Doctor twice and he said you were very pleasant and most worried about your boy, and that I am to take care of you. They were all Thank God very sweet, to me. I was crying as much as my son.

Wonderful trip report ~ Thanx for sharing!!!!!

Oh Twinsmom, I said oh no when I read that! I remember your last trip (wasn't that long ago?). Poor mommy and definately poor baby!! I hope you don't have any more problems and I hope your DVC stay is better than your BCV was!

So sorry to hear about your ER visit. I hope your son's eye is better.

My heart goes out your little one. I work for two eye doctors and have seen first hand how painfull a torn or scratched cornea can be. I hope both your son and you are doing better. If you can get him to wear sunglasses it might help. Until the cornea is healed he will be much more light sensitive.
