Just got back from AKL and vero on the 12th. AKL rooms were very nice and close to everything. (pool & Food) The food are Mara was very good my wife loved the african stew. Boma was very disapointing. Great service but the food didn't taste like much. The prime rib tasted like it was cooked in a rusty can. My wife loves mac and cheese and said it tasted nasty but was able to find a few things to fill up on. Rented a car though disney to drive to vero what a adventure that was. The car started running a oil light just after we left and found it was two and half qt's low on oil the trunk latch fellout and the lower fender bolts were lose. Vero was very nice our first trip there food was a little high but good. Enjoyed the pool and tennis courts and the noseeums(bugs) seemed to love me. The one bed rooms were very large. All and all it was a great trip.

I'm glad you had a nice time. Did the noseums bother you during the day? on the tennis courts? What time of day? We're getting to VB next Sunday! I did prepare the group and hope we have some effective repellent.

Bobbi:)

The noseums were at dusk and dawn. Wear long pants early and late if you keep moving there not as bad. Tennis courts were very nice.

So sorry to hear about your poor experience at Boma's. We were finally able to get this time (we are in the midst of our AKV vacation now) and we absolutely loved our meal at Boma's last week. Then again we really like the different spices that we normally do not cook with. Just a little fun for our taste buds. :rotfl:

Happy to hear you enjoyed AKL so much!

Funny, I had the inverse experience with respect to Boma and The Mara.

Boma has never failed me for an excellent meal (and all my family that travels with me would agree on this). The Mara was the worst fast food in terms of grumpy service and fast food selection that I've ever had in many stays at WDW. I mean, really! Heat-lamped pizza, heat-lamped burgers . . . and only the stew even remotely "african" (a great disppointment to us).
