AKL 8/21-8/29 - OMG, I love this place!

Just a fantastic week! Mousekeeping was excellent - towel animals galore, beds made and turned down with a lovely African proverb card laid on the pillow each night.

Animals out on the savannah: three male giraffes (the largest one is named Jay!), a group of water bucks, a group of cattle, a kudu, ostriches, and river hogs (they are new - an experiment, actually!), plus many varieties of birds.

I posted a AKL food thread on the restaurant board if you are interested in the food options.

If you are staying in the near future - ENJOY! And I am totally jealous!

we have gone for lunch there but not stayed yet. this is where my dh really wants to stay. i tell him when we hit the lottery we will stay. haha. we were gonna try and surprise him maybe nove-dec trip, but i am still not sure we can go. someday though..................

Am staying at AKL one month today!! Am so excited about being at Gatwick airport beforehand, let alone staying at the hotel.

Where was your room located?

We had romm 3285, which is a one-bedroom suite - absolutely gorgeous! We were on this side of the resort last trip also, so we have become quite attached to the male girafees on this savannah. As we're walking around the park, every once and a while one of us will say, "Wonder what the boys are doing," and we laugh, knowing that we're talking about the three girafees!
