AKL 7 months out

There was a rumor going around, (I heard from MS) that Kidani will have Concierge... a whole floor of it all Savannah view.

Just booked two studios for 2nd week of Sept. Savannah view.

I actually for once had a choice of the two places I wanted - BWV or AK. I picked Animal Kingdom since I've never stayed there before. Hope I made the right choice, since I love :lovestruc BWV!

I am glad to hear people are getting dates 7 months out...we just got back and already can't wait to go back!! Am thinking maybe next January.

Aclov...you will love AKL....I loved it so much that there were mornings that I wished I was staying just at the resort, and not going to the parks..ackk!
Don't miss the fire pit and story telling time.

Thanks for all the info. I was hoping to go after 9/27 since that is when free dining ends. However, that appears to be the first weekend of the Food and Wine Festival. What I'll probably do then is at the 7 month mark go ahead and book 9/21-9/27 just to have the ressies. Then, if available, I'll move to 9/28-10/4, and then again to 10/5-10/11 since that is the week we ultimately want (our Anniversary is 10/5 and we'll have a sitter in MIL!)

Can I do all those changes w/o penalty as long as it's done 7 months out. I think I can, but would just like the advice of some DVC veterans :thumbsup2.

TIA, Carmen

 If you decide to go Sept 21-27, I have some good news! I have a 2bdrm AND a savannah view studio book for sept 21-28 & I will be changing to a different resort! I will probably be calling every day though starting on Feb 22nd. I know that after my phone call, there will for sure be a savannah view available for you! :thumbsup2

Thanks, but unfortunately, I need a one bedroom. A Studio won't quite be big enough since MIL will be with us and we don't have a enough points to do a 2 bedroom. Plus, I think the one bedroom is a perfect fit for us. Thanks again for the heads up though! Someone sure will be glad you canceled!

This is purely rumor at this stage as nothing else indicates there will be any concierge in Kidani, including that plans approved for the building's construction, which obviously is being done now, do not include any concierge lounge. Also, "the whole floor" seems to indicate a rumor that is now taking on a whole new life of its own and emphasizes it is a rumor.

we couldn't use our first set of points and had to rent them out. We rented them out at the 6 month mark for someone this april. had no problem getting the res. for her.

Bump! What is the latest news on Kidani Village and when it will be complete? Any pictures anywhere? Also, can anyone say whether or not Kidani will have conceirge as I've read conflicting reports!!!

Well, I just book a one bedroom Savannah view for Sept 28-Oct 3. I'm even a few days past the 7 months and still got it! I moved our dates up this weekend or I would have started calling last week. Although it could have come back to bite me, at least I didn't have to call everyday on the 7 month mark!

:woohoo: Congratulations. We were lucky enough to enjoy a Savanna View the first few days of January. And I slept on the chair and it was very comfy! Hope you enjoy your trip.

We booked AKL 7 months out, 2 BR, Savannah view Aug 31-Sep 5 with no problems. It was completed day by day. MS was great!

Our kids are pumped up, but I think their 84 yo great grandmother is probably more excited! She already has her scooter reserved and is ready to go!

That is so GREAT! I sure wish I could get our family excited about Disney World. DH and I been trying to convince both of our families to come for years and finally MIL has agreed to come; however, she just doesn't share the enthusiasm that we have :confused3.

My dad said no way he would EVER go. Yesterday he was looking at pics from our January trip. He said "Boy, that's a true smile on Haley, not a fake one at all!" I told him "That's because there's no place like it!" Still no budge! Don't know what's wrong with him.

Your not alone! I can't get my brothers and their families to go either! I have been working on them for years. They just don't have the "magic"!:rotfl: The ironic thing is... if I could ever get my older brother to go, he would probably buy DVC! He and is wife spend so much money on local carnivals and game places, it's ridiculous!

We're looking at the last week of October, the 26th-31st. Are we going to have a problem getting a SV studio at 7 months? I really would like the AKV but I would be happy with anything.

I can't speak from experience, and I don't want to freak you out, but there are a couple factors to consider:

1) That's one of the last couple of weeks of Epcot: Food and Wine festival, which typically means DVC villas are in high demand.

2) You're competing with the Mickey's Not so Very Scary Halloween travellers, as that's, obviously, Halloween.

I'm not sure how much effect ANY of that will have on AKV...this is the first year of real "demand stress" on the resort during that time frame. Last year, there were a very limited number of units even open during that time frame, AND a smaller membership, so it's likely not a good benchmark.

I haven't heard of any waitlists for that time frame, yet, but it might not be a "sure thing" at the 7 month mark.

I was able to book a one bedroom conceirge villa arriving on May 31st at about the 4 month mark:cool1: we are soooo excited
